What a scare !!!

As I was creating the last post, I clicked on the wrong place and instead of selecting "html source" to see a URL for a  document, I clicked on "template " and my post disappeared when I went back to it. NO NO scared 2NO

Luckily enough, I had a window I had previously opened to preview my post, went to "see", "code source" and copied all the html instructions for my post, pasted it in a new post and fortunately could get it back, not without suffering a mini heart in the process.

Why don´t I ever learn to save as DRAFT. Please brain, help me out here.

Well, I hope I learned the lesson ( ... I don´t think so but I´ll try)

About links and friends

web2 In a very intuitive way I began adding friends to my blog but there are two categories so let´s see why.

One I created going to my friends´ blogs and just clicking on "link  me". The other category I guess was created by friends who decided to link me to their sites.

As to links to web pages of interest that appear on the side, it is very easy to do in Mótime (easier than in Blogger where one has to do it manually through the template). There is a heading that says "links",and if you have the http at hand and write it on the provided space, it just appears right on the links area, easy, uhhh

As to the logo "subscribe", one can select a blog one wants to keep track of either by getting messages when a post is made or if a comment is made too. I´ll try it right now to see how it works. I just subscribed to Dafne´s blog but I could see one is only allowed to do it to motime users. If our students want to use another blog host, we are doomed.

Ah, something I found and I really liked is that one has links to all the comments one has made to other Mótime users.  Nice feature     Something I found out and I did not like is that when one is posting a comment to a blog, one cannot preview it (something that one can do in Blogger, especially as non native speakers who like to check what one is writing before sending it)

I don´t particularly like the "home" page when one is logged in. It is confusing (at least to me). I really don´t want to see the recent blogs of people I don´t know. It bothers me A LOT. I have not played around with the "privacy" features yet.

OK, I´ll try to link a document now to experience what Dafne said in her blog. Here I go. Let me preview the post . The document is there but has a funny red X when a picture does not open. Let me try again.

OK, here it is. Dafne hyperlinked her document to a highlighted word. Let me try that with hers. It worked. Now let´s see if I can find the URL of my document  in the html source logo on the very top left and hyperlink it ...  got it. Let´s see how it looks by previewing the post ...  OK. I am done with this post. It just took me like 2 hours in a row!!!!

First impressions on creating a blog with Motime

I just lost one post for not having saved it as draft ... my mistake. Let me try to recreate it again.

Adding a picture to a post is not as straight forward as in blogger. The 7th icon from right to left that has a box with a mountain and sun works if one has the URL of the photo. So I decided to go to the button "add picture", selected "upload, examine," looked for the photo in my computer files, clicked the box that says I declare I possess all the rights to publish the picture (and I don´t, by the way), got the picture on the left of a window but did not understand what to do with it. Let me try again.

Ah, bingo. I double clicked on the picture and it finally appeared on the post. Motime has also the possibility of adding audio, video and text files (something which can be done in Blogger but by playing with the html code). Here it seems easier. Mótime has few templates to select from. Maybe there are other pages with  more samples. I guess having the HTML code might help one to modify an existing template. Adding hyperlinks is easy . The icon is the 9th from right to left. As in blogger, highlight the word, click on adding hyperlink, write the URL and that´s it. The color of the linked word appears in light grey. I decided to change the second hyperlink to blue and bold. When I log in, there is more information than what I would like to have about other Motime blogs. I guess if I set mine to "private" this could change but maybe fewer people will visit it. We´ll see.

Here it is. There is hope in Motime´s cyberspace for me ...
